Sikkim Singalila Trekking

From the year 2000, the Sikkim government has opened up, for trekking, the restricted area, comprising the spine of the Singelila Ridge along the Sikkim-Nepal border. This has enabled the Singalila Traverse - a longer but more interesting approach to Gochela pass below Mt. Kangchenjunga. On this traverse the delights of Himalayan upland trekking are yours to enjoy, with the tantalizing challenge of the 5000 Meters high Gochela at the end. An added advantage is that the altitude gain is more gradual, and there is plenty of time to acclimatize. A trek to one of the last remaining prestine Himalayan wilderness.

 DAYS ITINERARY for Singalila Ridge Trek to Gochala pass.
  01 Arrive Bagdogra Airport Or NJP Railway Station Or Bhadrapur Airport. 
Drive up the Teesta valley to Gangtok the capital of Sikkim.  Hotel.
  02 Gangtok town & Rumtek Monastery sightseeing. Hotel.
  03 Drive Gangtok to Pelling. Lodge or Camp.
  04 Visit Pemayangtse Monastery. Drive to road-head near Nambu. Camp.
  05-08 Start Singalela ridge trek. Trek through the beautiful rhododendron forested Singelala Ridge to Chauri, Yambong and Gomathang. Rest day at Yambong or Gomathang for acclimatization. Enjoy great views of the Kanchanjunga range and the hills & valleys of the Eastern Himalayas. Camping.
  09-10 Continue trekking along the high ridges to Gomathang, Pangdim and to the beautiful alpine meadows of Dzongri where herds of hairy yaks graze below the snowy peaks of Kanchanjunga mountains. Camps.
  11 Rest/acclimatization day at Dzongri. Climb Dzongri Top for sunrise & sunset views. Optional hike to Dzongri Pass and Ratong Valley. Camp.
  12-13 Trek up the valley to Thangsing and Samiti Pokhari. Camps.
  14 Day Hike to Goecha La Pass (4940m). Camp at Thangsing.
  15-16 Return trek to Tsokha and Yoksum. Camps.
  17 Drive to Yoksum to Kalimpong. Visit Bazaar and Monastery. Hotel.
  18 Transfer to to Bagdogra Airport (or NJP Railway Station or Bhadrapur Airport or next destination) for departure. Tour Ends.

Darjeeling Extension:
2 nights stay in Darjeeling with one full day jeep and walking tour of Darjeeling town, Himalayan  Mountaineering  Institute and zooligical garden.
