I just made it back home a little over 24 hours ago and wanted to thank you and everyone in Kathmandu for the wonderful time I had there. The country was very beautiful and the people were as friendly as I could possibly hope they could be. I don't know if I would have had as good a time though if you hadn't done such a wonderful job setting everything up and I wanted you to know that I appreciated it. The guide (Anil, right?) plus the driver also did a super job and I had a lot of fun.

Hopefully, I plan to make it back to Kathmandu next year and will be sure that I get in contact with your company again. At any rate, thanks again for you professionalism, hard work, intergrity and diligence in setting up the particulars of my trip for me.

Dear Sir:

We were in Tibet recently and had the most wonderful tour guide from your agency, Pant Sering, and a very skilled driver, Cipin.

My family of 7 (Lombardi Tour - arranged by Shakti Travels & Tours in Nepal, Hari Nakarmi) landed in Lhasa on October 3,2002. We were with Pant Sering and Cipin for a week as we visited sites in and around Lhasa and went across the Tibetan plateau to Kathmandu. They both made our visit to Tibet very memorable.

Pant Sering is extremely knowledgeable and was able to give us information about Tibet's history and religion in a very understandable manner. He was very solicitous of our struggles with altitude sickness. Coming from Florida, which is at sea level, we were somewhat afflicted with AS. However, Pant Sering was always advising us to take naps, always drink and he adjusted the intineray accordingly. Matter of fact, for our convenience he obtained several cases of bottled water for us to have on the bus. Florence Lombardi, who is 76 years old, sometimes found it hard to climb the stairs and ladders in the monasteries because of side effects from altitude sickness. Pant Sering always sure to take her arm and help her. We were very impressed with his "devotion" to our mother, Florence.

As we traveled the Tibetan plateau Pant Sering did things like gets us space heaters in some of the hotels, (it was cold for us) and always make sure we had a table assigned to us in the dining rooms. Matter of fact, one morning we got to the dining room a little after another big tour crowd and there was no more breakfast and Pant Sering went into the kitchen and got the chef to make us two platters of scrambled eggs.

Cipin is an extremely skilled, and cautious driver. Although we were driving at very high altitudes on bad roads with no guardrails, we were never alarmed because we could see that Cipin was an excellent driver.

When we got to Zhangmu, we heard that floods had made the 18 kilometer trip to the border very difficult. We could not take our bus so Pant Sering got us Land Rovers. Not only that, in a few places where it seemed that we could not move forward because of traffic jams. Pant Sering got out of his vehicle and one time actually moved a big rock so our vehicles could pass, and another time broke down bushes so the driver could see the edge of the road.

We have travelled all over the world (all over Western Europe, China, Egypt, Israel, all over the U.S.) and Pant Sering was the best guide we ever had. Matter of fact, we were in the Yak N' Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu and another American couple told us they were going to Lhasa and needed a guide and we told them they had to have Pant Sering.
